Hi! It's me, Vaini Wen — portrait and fine art photographer based in Monaco, working worldwide.
My work is shaped by deep love for travel, authentic human connection, beauty and art. My style is characterised by timeless, artistic, storytelling in black & white and colour.
A photo shoot with me is FUN, DYNAMIC, JOYFUL, AND NATURAL— like spending time with a good friend who is a photographer.
Fluent in Chinese, English, Spanish, and French.
Life story
Growing up in China, I bought my very first camera at age of 16. Since then, the camera has become my best friend, my lover, my extended hand, my extra eyes. Most importantly, my tool as a photographer.
I studied Spanish at university, lived and worked in Chile and Costa Rica for many years, and have travelled to 70+ countries.
I moved to Monaco in 2021, which ultimately lead to my destiny of being a photographer.

WHAT SHAPED WHO I AM
Over-landing, border crossings, extreme travels, and long expeditions are big parts of my life. These experiences shape my vision, my resilience, my creativity, and my perspective — they live inside what I create.
Here are a few epic trips I've done:
• Cycled solo across Tibet — 2,500 km at average 4,500m altitude in strong wind and low temperature.
• Hiked the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal with full camping gear for one month, average altitude 4500m.
• Hitchhiked across Russia, Kazakhstan, and China — 10,000 km.
• Crossed the Atlantic Ocean on my first sailing trip as photographer & videographer.
•First Solo road trip after got my driving license- Drive across all Balkan countries — 4,500 km through 13 countries.
• Solo Backpacking Asia, Southeast Asia, South America, Central America, and East Africa...
Photography is not just images.
It is emotion.
